Helmet History

I have found something extremely interesting. It has to do with helmets worn my ancient civilizations. My observation is very simple, and kind of spooky. The helmets worn by Roman soldiers have a striking similarity, almost exactly the same, as the Trojan helmets. Then there’s another, even older, civilization called the Estruscan Empire. They too have the same helmet. I find this strange because all of these are such different empires separated by vast oceans of time, yet they have retained this same helmet. But the strangest of all, is that on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD, in the middle of the pacific ocean, on the small little islands of Hawaii the warrior Alii choose as their helmet the same skinny horn curving towards the forehead. Yet the Hawaiians didn’t have the advanced materials of Rome of course, so theres were made out of yellow leaves and such, but the IDEA is exactly the same!

HOW and WHY would these helmet be so exactly the same?! How is it possible that some of the most segregation groups of people to ever live on earth… people not only separated by thousands of years, but tens of thousands of miles of ocean and land, choose a helmet that is exactly the same. It’s crazy!

Some guy just heard this song and felt inspired to create this video for it. I think it’s pretty amazing. I love the song too. It’s not the album version, but it sounds awesome all stripped down.

At first I felt like Thom York’s music was too dark. An overly pessimistic look at the world, but lately I can sympathize with him, and I think his music is a wonderful expression of the time we are living in now. It is so desperate. This guy gets it obviously, and this vid is as close to perfect a visual representation you can get I think.

I guess I really DO need to put on sunscreen. My scalp got a little toasted and now I look like a sick alien with cancer or something. It’s really sad, and if I wear a hat I look beyond dorky. Freagin’ A!!!!
